Mae Stevens
Mae Stevens is the CEO of Current Strategies, a multimillion-dollar public affairs firm in Washington, DC, and the only firm dedicated to water infrastructure. She leads the firm’s strategic counsel, advocacy, and coalition management efforts to advance critical infrastructure priorities across all clients.
A recognized national leader in water policy, she wrote the legislation that addressed the Flint water crisis and authored the first-ever federal low-income water customer assistance legislation, while working as the top environment and public works advisor for Sen. Ben Cardin.
Mae has been named one of The Hill’s Top Lobbyists in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, reflecting her influence in shaping policy and delivering results for clients across Fortune 500, municipal, and nonprofit sectors.
Her career has spanned senior roles on Capitol Hill and leading public affairs firms, where she has consistently bridged policy expertise and real-world impact.
Mae is a graduate of Columbia University and The George Washington University.

Wendi Wilkes
Executive Vice President
Wendi Wilkes serves as Executive Vice President at Current Strategies, where she advises clients on strategic advocacy and policy engagement. A former Administration official in Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water, she oversaw EPA OW’s implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and helped direct billions in investments to modernize the nation’s water systems. Her career includes leadership roles in state and federal government, including regulatory strategy and coalition development.
Ted Mondloch
Vice President
As a Vice President at Current Strategies, Ted is an expert in water infrastructure policy, with deep knowledge of federal programs that improve water quality, access, and affordability nationwide. He advises water utilities, non-profits, and trade associations, helping those in the sector advocate for and access funding for key initiatives. Ted brings to Current nearly a decade of experience advocating for federal water policy investment. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from James Madison University.
Luce Tysor
Luce Tysor is an Associate at Current Strategies, where she helps clients navigate the evolving landscape of water policy and infrastructure. She supports advocacy and strategic communications efforts that connect policy goals with real-world impact, advancing safe, reliable, and equitable water access nationwide. Luce’s background in international affairs allows her to bring a diplomatic perspective to building partnerships and shaping strategies that foster collaboration across sectors. She holds a B.A. in International Studies from American University and is pursuing an M.A. in Statecraft and International Affairs at the Institute of World Politics.

Mel Daniels
Mel, a Fellow at Current Strategies, recently graduated from Wellesley College magna cum laude, double majoring in Philosophy and Environmental Studies. Their academic work largely focused on water issues, including an in-depth analysis of San Francisco v. EPA and mercury in the Ohio River Valley. Previously, Mel interned for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management at the Department of the Interior, assisting the office on the permitting of large-scale renewable energy projects and the implementation of $16 billion in legacy pollution clean-up funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Before DOI, Mel worked at Wellesley College's Office of Sustainability.
