Congressional Briefing:

Addressing AI Infrastructure: Land, Water, and Data Center Policy

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy invites you to an educational briefing on how communities can evaluate proposed data center projects. As AI infrastructure expands, communities across the country are increasingly being asked to weigh the promise of economic development and tax revenue against data centers’ significant demands on local resources.

The briefing will draw from the Lincoln Institute’s forthcoming report, Addressing AI Infrastructure: Land, Water, and Data Center Policy, which provides a practical policy framework to help local governments make informed choices about whether and how to allow data centers to be built in their communities.

The briefing will feature a panel of Lincoln Institute experts:

  • John Farner, Executive Director, Land and Water

  • Mary Ann Dickinson, Policy Director, Land and Water

  • Peter Colohan, Director of Partnerships and Program Innovation

Moderated byMae Stevens, Current Strategies

The panelists will discuss key findings from the report and consider how policymakers can better understand the opportunities and challenges associated with data center growth.
